THE BEST BEACHES OF PUNTA CANA
Surely you have heard already what they say around about the beaches of the Caribbean… about its fine white sand and turquoise blue waters, decorated with dozens of green tropical palms on the back…
I am happy to confirm to you that everything you have heard so far is true! The beaches of the Caribbean and the entire Dominican Republic are #HEAVEN.
But it is also true that there is a beach on every corner! Therefore, to avoid losing your precious time on a deserted beach, with no other attraction than its natural beauty, I have compiled a small list for you, of the best beaches of Punta Cana.
BAVARO BEACH: THE BEST SAILING AND PARTY BOATS OF PUNTA CANA
If you made it to Punta Cana with the idea of enjoying the traditional boat ride stuck in your head, this is your stop! From boat parties and slow sails across the coast of Punta Cana, to speed-boat and banana rides, Playa Bávaro has it all! Once you enjoy a fun session of snorkeling under its crystal clear waters full of coral reefs, followed by a set of refreshing tropical drinks, enjoy a relaxing stop in one of the natural pools around Bávaro and end the day with a cherry on top: with a delicious sea-food meal in front of the beach at any of its numerous restaurants. Suggestions once in there? Marina Caribe & Jelly Fish.
LOS CORALES: THE BEACH OF FUN BEHIND HOME
Hidden behind the dreamy alleys of the area of Los Corales and its busy residential areas, this beach years ago was better known by the name of Soles and it has remained throughout time as one of the favorites of all of Punta Cana. It’s impossible not to enjoy a day at Los Corales, with so much to do around! From taste of drinks, tapas and delicious dishes in its many restaurants, food trucks, coffee & pastry shops, ice cream parlors and other informal places, to bike rides and live music shows. Every place in the palm of your hand: safe, nearby and entertaining!
MACAO BEACH: THE BEACH OF THE VILLAGE
Experience living one day as a local, at the favorite beach of the community of Punta Cana. Far away from the center of the city (about 25 minutes away) and from all the commotion of tourism, Playa Macao is the ideal place for those who find themselves thrilled with the idea of sitting on the seashore, over a wooden table with the traditional cana hut, savoring a delicious caribbean dish of Pescado al Limón with crispy tostones, some rice and avocado salad… Walk along the shore of this iconic beach, full of small local craft stalls; relax under the shade of some palm trees or try to surf your first waves, by the hand of any of the many surfers of the famous school of Macao Surf Camp.
JUANILLO BEACH: THE MOST EXCLUSIVE BEACH IN PUNTA CANA
For those who’d prefer to relax and to enjoy PREMIUM in every detail in a calm and paradisiacal beach, there is Playa Juanillo; bathed by few of the most exclusive bars, restaurants and boutique hotels in the area. Once in there, don’t miss on the chance to photograph yourself next to the iconic van of Little John (MUST) and to enjoy its many night live music shows. If you are a true Foodie, dare to walk to the gastronomic city of Sanctuary Town, where you will find a space for every palate, entertainment and the tastiest cigars.
Are you ready to take a dip?! I hope now you know where to go.
